Frenchette

Restaurant │ Commercial │ Remodel

Located in Tribeca, Frenchette reinterprets the classic French brasserie within a long, narrow footprint. The space unfolds as a sequence of experiences, beginning with a lively bar at the entrance and transitioning to a more intimate dining room beyond.

A central partition structures the interior, creating distinct atmospheres while maintaining visual continuity toward the kitchen. The bar anchors the street edge and sets the restaurant’s social energy, while deeper inside, booths, softer lighting, and warm materials create a quieter setting for longer meals.

The material palette emphasizes durability and tactility. Custom wood tables, leather seating, mirrored panels, and hand-finished millwork draw on the character of historic European bistros while remaining distinctly contemporary. At the center of the restaurant, a semi-open kitchen serves as both workspace and stage, visible from the entry and reinforcing the connection between guests, chefs, and the craft of dining.

As delivery architects, RDA played a central role in translating the design vision into a built reality. Working from the initial concept by Springs Collective, the team developed the project through detailed documentation, coordination, and construction oversight. RDA ensured that the spatial sequencing, material richness, and operational requirements of a high-performance restaurant were successfully realized within the constraints of a compact Tribeca footprint.

Through precise execution and close collaboration with the design team, fabricators, and contractors, RDA helped transform the concept into a dynamic and immersive dining environment.
